Multiple Search Parameters allows the user to search for the water right entering some search parameters. As the parameters for the water right search are vast, they are classified and placed in three different tabs.
Go to any of the following tabs.
To Search using WR Number or Facility Name:
To Search by Location Parameters:
Under Public Land Survey System Description
Under Subdivision Description
Under Administrative Boundaries.
Stream Name Searches
To Search using Water Right Parameters:
Check Include Point of Use Details.
Check Search Within the Results.
e-Permit also provides the options to:
Sometimes the users might want to view the POU Land Owner Name instead of the Appropriation column. In such cases, e-Permit provides them with an option to include POU details in the search results.
Click Search in the Water Right Search Results Page.
The Search page is displayed.
Check the box adjacent to Include POU Details.
Click Search.
Search results with POU Land owner name will be displayed.
Click Search.
NOTE: Click Cancel to exit without searching.
System displays the search results in a separate page.
This page facilitates the user to Search Water Rights by GIS feature.
Section to the right shows following three tabs:
1. QUERY
This tab displays the PLSS tool by default. PLSS Tool facilitates the users zoom to the PLSS location.
i. To Zoom to the PLSS Location:
§ Select Principal Meridian.
§ Select Township.
§ Select Range.
§ Select Section.
§ Select Quarter.
§ Select Qtr-Qtr.
§ Click Go.
NOTES: Click Reset to clear all the previous entries.
It is mandatory to enter at least Principal Meridian The meridian extended from an initial point, upon which regular quarter quarter-section, section, township, and range corners have been or are to be established.The meridian extended from an initial point, upon which regular quarter quarter-section, section, township, and range corners have been or are to be established., Township ,Range and Section search criteria.
2. TOC
The Table of Contents (TOC) shows all the layers a map can display. Boxes adjacent to the currently visible layers would be checked. From this tab you can:
§ Go to TOC tab.
§ Check the boxes adjacent to the layers to be displayed.
NOTE: Uncheck the boxes if you don't want the layers to be visible.
§ Click Refresh Map link.
Selected layers will now be visible on the map.
§ Click the layer that is visible already.
NOTES:
Only a visible layer can be activated.
An active layer cannot be made invisible.
Only active layers can be identified.
§ Click Show Metadata link.
3. Legend
The Legend shows the layers that are represented on the map including their color and symbology. The available features are:
§ POD (Point of Diversion) - This layer includes Surface Water Points of diversion, Reservoirs, and Wells that are in the SEO database. These points and labels are not shown until you zoom to an area about the size of a PLSS township (36 square miles).
§ Point of Use – This layer shows all of the PLSS quarter-quarter (Q-Q) sections that have a point of use within the Q-Q. These polygons are not shown until you zoom to an area about the size of three sections (9 square miles). The polygon labels are not shown until you zoom to an area of about one PLSS section (one square mile). Note that once you zoom to a PLSS section, all of the know water right numbers within each Q-Q are listed in their respective Q-Q.
§ PLSS Quarter-Quarter Section Lines – These lines and labels are only shown once you zoom to an area about the size of a PLSS Section (one square mile).
§ PLSS Quarter Section Lines – These lines and labels are only shown once you zoom to an area of about four PLSS Section (four square miles). These quarter section lines and labels are no longer shown once you zoom to the level of quarter-quarter sections.
§ PLSS Section Lines – These lines and labels are only shown once you zoom to an area about the size of a PLSS township (36 square miles).
§ PLSS Township Lines – These lines are only shown once you zoom to an area about the size of a third of the State. Note that labels are not shown to minimize map clutter.
§ Government Ownership – This layer shows those lands owned by federal and state agencies. To determine the land owner, you must use the identify tool. Note that this layer will display at all map scales, but must be selected by the user.
§ Major Stream – Major streams are only provided for reference at small map scales.
§ Stream – Streams imported from the National Hydrographic Dataset (NHD). These lines and stream names are only shown once you zoom to an area about the size of a PLSS township (36 square miles). Note that most streams in the NHDS do not have stream names.
§ Water body – Water bodies are water features (e.g., lake, pond, reservoir, etc.) shown as a polygon. These polygons are only shown once you zoom to an area about the size of a PLSS township (36 square miles).
§ Interstate Highway – Interstate highways are road features that are designated an interstate highway. These road features are shown at all map scales.
§ Major Road
§ Roads
§ Railroad
§ County – The county boundaries and names.
§ State – The boundary of the State of Wyoming.
§ District – The SEO districts are administrative subdivisions of the SEO divisions.
§ Division – The SEO divisions are administrative subdivisions of the State for the purpose of managing the State water rights.
§ USGS Quads (DRG) – Digital Raster Graphics that show the United States Geological Survey 1:24,000 Quadrangles. These images are only available for selection once you zoom to an area about the size of four PLSS sections (four square miles).
§ Orthophotography (DOQ) – Digital Orthophotography Quadrangles. These images are only available for selection once you zoom to an area about the size of eight PLSS sections (eight square miles).
This tab allows to download shapefile by selected area on the map or map extent and SEO wells shapefile.
Select download type for WaterRight Shapefile(s)
1. Select any option 'All (POU & POD)' or 'Point of Diversion or Well Details' or 'Point of use details'.
2. Click Download Button.
3. Wait till download and save zip data file.
Download SEO Wells Shapefile
1. Click on blue text 'here' to download SEO wells Shapefile.
2. Wait till download and save zip data file.
The Toggle Vicinity Map tool will allow you to switch on/off the overview map.
Zooms to the total extent of the map.
Zooms to the active layer of the map.
Zooms to the previous extent.
The zoom in tool will allow you to zoom into the selected area of the map.
Select Zoom in Icon and click on the area you want to zoom into. (or)
Select Zoom in Icon, click on the map, hold the mouse down and drag out a square. The new map will zoom to the area you just set in the square.
NOTE: Draw smaller squares to zoom in closer.
The zoom out tool will allow you to zoom out of the selected area on the map.
Select the Zoom Out Icon and click on the area you want to zoom out from (or)
Select the Zoom Out Icon, click on the map, hold the mouse down and drag out a square. The new map will zoom out to the area you just set.
The pan tool will allow you to move to a different location in the map. Select the Pan Tool, click on the map, hold the mouse down, and move the map in any direction you want.
The identify tool helps you to identify and get details of the selected feature on the map.
Go to TOC tab.
Check the box adjacent to the layer you want to identify to make it visible.
NOTE: Use legend to check the symbolic representations on the map.
Click on the visible layer to activate.
Select Identify button.
Click the desired feature on the map.
Select Identify tool.
The system gathers the details (e.g., Name, etc.,) of the selected feature from the database and displays them in a pop-up window.
The refresh tool clears all previous selections and displays a fresh map.
The print tool allows you to print the map displayed on the GIS map.
Select the Print Icon.
Enter Title to Display on Map.
Click Create Map.
Printable format of the map opens in a pop-up window.
Click Print.
NOTE: Click Close to exit without printing.
The map will be printed to your default printer on 8.5 x 11 inch paper.
NOTE: The GIS Search selection on the main menu provides more GIS search and report functionality.
On the left-hand corner of the page, click
“Search by Polygon” icon.
Choose “Select Drawing method” option from panel on the map. The options are
1. Polygon: Click anywhere on the map to start drawing the polygon and do double click to finish the polygon.
2. Circle: Click anywhere on the map to add circle.
3. Triangle: Click anywhere on the map to add triangle.
4. Square: Click anywhere on the map to add square.
Note: Use Reset button to reset selected drawing method and use
close to exit from the selected tool.
Click Search, System displays the search results in a separate page.
NOTE: Click Cancel to exit without searching and to reset the map to default selected.
On the left-hand corner of the page, click
“Distance from a Point” icon.
Choose the options from panel on the map. The options are
1. Select Unit for Result: Select distance unit from dropdown box to get distance by selected unit on mouse move.
2. Buffer Parameters: Enter distance as buffer and select unit for define search area by draw distance line.
Draw distance line on the map using mouse click and do double click to finish the line.
Note: Use Reset button to reset selected drawing method and use
close to exit from the selected tool.
Click Search, System displays the search results in a separate page.
NOTE: Click Cancel to exit without searching and to reset the map to default selected.
Distance from Selected GIS Feature
On the left-hand corner of the page, click
“Distance from a Selected GIS Feature” icon.
Choose option ‘Buffer Parameters’ to enter distance as buffer and select unit for define search area.
Click on the GIS features (e.g., stream segment, POD, road) on the map and selected feature is highlighted on the map.
Note: Use Reset button to reset the selected GIS features and use
close to exit from the selected tool.
Click Search, System displays the search results in a separate page.
NOTE: Click Cancel to exit without searching and to reset the map to default selected.
